1) General Homepage Structure

Header: The first time you log in to EMSWeb, you will see your assigned organization’s homepage with a header at the top.

On the left of the header is the EMSWeb logo and all the way on the right are your account name, links for editing your profile and logging out of the system, and the Help icon. Directly beneath these links is the Organization Selector. The Organization Selector controls the organization from which you view the database. Child organizations within your assigned organization must be selected here in order to view their homepage. The Organization selector will initially display the organization assigned to your user account. Afterwards, it will default to the homepage of the organization you visited last.

Main Navigation Links: Beneath the header are two rows of navigation links used to navigate to different sections and functions located within EMSWeb. The main menu links are in white text and located on the top, blue row. These main menus are always visible. When you click on a main menu, a light blue box surrounds the name of the link to indicate that it is selected and active. When a main menu is activated, its submenu links appear in grey text in the white row beneath. An active submenu is indicated by bold, blue text. Hovering the mouse over any submenu link activates a dropdown menu list of function links To select a function link, simply move the mouse into the dropdown list and click on the desired link. Moving the mouse outside of the dropdown list closes the dropdown menu.

Main Body: The main body of the Homepage is a custom content page controlled by the Organization Administrator. The main body changes based on the main menu, submenu, and function links selected. Data in the main body are mostly displayed in grids, profiles, or forms, which are not custom content pages. The title of the main body (the name of the content) is in large, black font and separated from the main content by a dark grey line. Above the title are the “breadcrumbs,” which indicate your location within the navigation links. Operational icons may also be present above the grey line on the right side of the header.

To the right of the main body is the utility pane where “My Dashboard” and Help functions are located.
