In HWMS, Waste Profiles are a detailed description of a waste in a web form for easy entering of the characterization of a waste and its components. This form becomes a record in the system that is used for simplifying waste record generation so only a minimum of data entry is required when creating a new waste record.

An incomplete waste profile will work against the data entry user in HWMS when creating a waste record. Not all fields are required in a waste profile, but all fields on the form should be filled out to maximize the consistency and minimize errors in waste record generation.
