Tell me more about Creating an O&T and Relating it to a POAM

Description

An Objective is a statement that supports an appropriate facility’s environmental goals and EMS policy. A Target is a statement that defines an end-state supporting an appropriate facility’s environmental goals and EMS policy.

O&Ts (Objectives and Targets) are assigned to managers who in turn can create a Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM). Each Milestone can be assigned to another user who can access their Milestone via their Tasks grid. As they enter their actions and update the percent completed, the POAM takes the average percentage of all the Milestones and reports that value under “Progress.”

Create an O&T and Relate it to a POAM

  1. Go to EMS > O&Ts to view the O&Ts grid.
  2. Click on New O&T. Complete the Objective form. If you need help understanding the field requirements, click on Help with this page on the utility pane. Leave the progress at “0%.”
  3. Click on Save Objective to save the new O&T and navigate to the O&T profile page.
  4. Once in the O&T profile page, you can add documents or relate existing aspects or equipment to the O&T by clicking on the applicable links in the O&T profile icon.
  5. To relate a POAM, click on Add POAM to access the POAM form.
  6. Complete the form. If you need help understanding the field requirements, click on Help with this page on the utility pane.
  7. Click on Save POAM to take you back to the O&T profile that now has a POAM section beneath the objective information.
  8. At least one milestone must be created to affect the Progress value of the POAM. Click on New Milestone to access the milestone form, which is very similar to the POAM form. The Milestone POC is the person that is responsible for completing the milestone.
  9. Click on Save Milestone to save the milestone and notify the Milestone POC (that individual will receive an email notification and be able to access the milestone via their Tasks grid). You can create additional milestones and assign them to different people. The POAM Progress is calculated from the average progress values of all assigned milestones.
